Lil’ Rant Cause I’m Mad

I’m trying to explain to my mom how messed up it is that there are so many genocides that I, a 16 year old American public high school student who has taken multiple history classes throughout my 11 years of schooling, had no idea existed. Its so messed up. Like I’m currently researching Armenian genocide in Turkey and its so terrible. Only a hand full of countries will recognize it as an actual genocide. It had like 1500000 deaths. One source I read even said that Hitler cited it as a insperation for the Holocaust. He (Apperently Idk if source was reliable I was browsing) said “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?” Its so messed up man. But anyways she didn’t understand why I was/am so angry about not knowing about any of the Genocides we could research (THATS 12 OF THEM) the American public school system is so messed up man.

Can anyone relate? Like how many other things are they keeping from us? I’m so mad about this.

I just started researching this today so I don’t know a ton about it but its so bad and I am so sorry to everyone effected by this and the denial of it. Its wrong and I wish it wasn’t that way. DM me if you want the source I got that from I’m too lazy to get it rn so I’m not putting it on but I am 100% okay to get it if someone wants it.
